Pizza is an oven-baked flat bread generally topped with tomato sauce and cheese. It is commonly supplemented with a selection of meats, vegetables and condiments. The term first appeared in 997 AD, “in a Latin text from the southern Italian town of Gaeta”, in Lazio, Central Italy. The modern pizza was invented in Naples, Italy, and the dish and its variants have since become popular in many areas of the world.

Food

Food is any substance consumed to provide nutritional support for the body. It is usually of plant or animal origin, and contains essential nutrients, such as fats, proteins, vitamins, or minerals. The substance is ingested by an organism and assimilated by the organism’s cells to provide energy, maintain life, or stimulate growth.

Food sources

Most food has its origin in plants. Some food is obtained directly from plants; but even animals that are used as food sources are raised by feeding them food derived from plants. Cereal grain is a staple food that provides more food energy worldwide than any other type of crop. Maize, wheat, and rice – in all of their varieties – account for 87% of all grain production worldwide.

Some cultures and people do not consume meat or animal food products for cultural, dietary, health, ethical, or ideological reasons.

Some foods not from animal or plant sources include various edible fungi, especially mushrooms. Fungi and ambient bacteria are used in the preparation of fermented and pickled foods like leavened bread, alcoholic drinks, cheese, pickles, kombucha, and yogurt. Another example is blue-green algae such as Spirulina.

Production

Most food has always been obtained through agriculture. With increasing concern over both the methods and products of modern industrial agriculture, there has been a growing trend toward sustainable agricultural practices. This approach, partly fueled by consumer demand, encourages biodiversity, local self-reliance and organic farming methods. Major influences on food production include international organizations (e.g. the World Trade Organization and Common Agricultural Policy), national government policy (or law), and war.

Food

In popular culture, the mass production of food, specifically meats such as chicken and beef, has come under fire from various documentaries, most recently Food, Inc, documenting the mass slaughter and poor treatment of animals, often for easier revenues from large corporations. Along with a current trend towards environmentalism, people in Western culture have had an increasing trend towards the use of herbal supplements, foods for a specific group of person (such as dieters, women, or athletes), functional foods (fortified foods, such as omega-3 eggs), and a more ethnically diverse diet.

Tawa chicken is one of the healthiest, yet sexiest recipes I can think of in chicken dishes. So, one fine day leaving away the chicken recipes that I have been dishing out, thought to pick up something finger licking. So, as thought, ordered half kilo of antibiotic free boneless chicken breast fillets from a leading online shop in Bangalore. The express delivery guy handed me the packet which I sanitised well, took out some 250 gms out of it and left the rest in the fridge and then starts the process…

The chicken is thoughly washed and rubbed with hand. Next hammer it well to make it thin and add the marination mixture and here it goes:

  1. Hung curd or plain yoghurt or greek yoghurt
  2. Lemon juice or Lime juice or Vinegar
  3. Sea salt or pink salt and a pinch of turmeric powder
  4. Red chilli powder, chilli flakes or Kashmiri chilli powder (optional)
  5. Ginger garlic paste
  6. Black pepper powder
  7. Tandoori or kebab masala (any good one you get over the counter, but this is optional)
  8. And finally sprinkle olive oil or veg oil or fresh mustard oil and it tastes heaven

Create a paste out of it. Make slits in the chicken fillets for the masala to enter and seep in. Massage the chicken well in the marinade mixture and keep it covered in fridge or in room temperatre for atleast 1-2 hours; overnight is preferrable. Till then lets have a brief hearty talk..So, how many of you prefer chicken bones
